AGA Responses to Two Gas Stove Studies Published this Week.

The issue of gas stove emissions has been the subject of discussions in a variety of end use codes and standards activities for some time.  This week, the AGA Communications Department responded to two new studies that deal with emissions from gas stoves, one with a positive message and the second that is just the opposite.  The first response is the AGA statement on the WHO study: World Health Organization funded study finds gas stoves not associated with childhood or adult asthma – American Gas Association (aga.org) . The second response is the AGA statement on study in Science Advances: Latest Study Misleading on Natural Gas Stoves – American Gas Association (aga.org) .

Additionally, attached is the correspondence that was sent to the AGA Communications and Marketing Committee that provides more details on the responses as well. Please review the material for possible use in responding to inquiries on gas stove emissions and feel free to provide this information to others within your organization.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions on the responses.
