International Code Council (ICC) Issues Call for Committees – Opportunity to Participate on ICC Code Development Committees.
The ICC has issued a Call for Committee for the 2024/2025/2026 Code Development Committees including the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), International Residential Code (IRC), International Fire Code (IFC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Green Construction Code (IGCC), etc. BECS Committee members are encouraged to submit applications for membership on ICC Code Development committees of interest to provide natural gas industry input into these model codes that are the most widely adopted throughout the United States. Note that there is adequate natural gas representation on the IFGC, but other ICC codes do have provisions or potential coverage that can impact natural gas applications. Individuals that are selected for committee membership are reimbursed for travel, lodging, meals etc., for participating in person meetings. The application deadline is June 1, 2023. The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) is not part of this ICC code development process and is developed under the ICC standards development process.
The ICC has also issued the upcoming code development schedule that can be found on the ICC Website at 2024-2026 Code Development Schedule. The International Fuel Gas Code is part of the Group A series of codes. Proposals to the Group A codes open on October 16, 2023, and close on January 8, 2024.
